Stuart Magazine: Adopt A Road

Roadside litter is not only an eyesore, but is also hazardous to the beautiful oceans and ecosystems that make Martin County such an amazing place.

Keep Martin Beautiful’s Adopt-A-Road campaign is seeking volunteers to help reduce litter and keep roads in Martin County trash-free.

The program offers businesses, civic groups, school groups, places of worship, families and individuals the opportunity to adopt a minimum one-mile section of county-maintained roadside for the purpose of litter reduction.

Teams make a commitment to remove litter along the adopted area at least six times a year. Keep Martin Beautiful provides safety vests, trash bags and pick-up sticks.
