Thanks to the help of our incredible volunteers, more than 30 miles of beaches and waterways were cleaned, with nearly 15,000 pieces of trash removed, weighing in at over 1,500 pounds. What’s eye-opening is that, 48% of the debris collected was made up of microplastics and tiny items smaller than 2.5 cm, with plastic and foam pieces being the most common. These numbers remind us that another important way to protect our environment is by reducing plastic use—especially single-use items. Small choices like reusable containers and refillable bottles add up! We couldn’t have achieved this impact without the dedication of every volunteer who showed up to protect our environment.
