About Us

Founded in 1994, Keep Martin Beautiful is a 501(c)(3) non profit, volunteer-based, community action organization based in Martin County, Florida.

Our mission is to preserve and enhance the quality of life in our community through:

  • litter prevention
  • waste reduction
  • beautification and community improvement
  • environmental stewardship education

The driving force of our organization lies in the thousands of volunteers who each year participate in hands-on community improvement activities. Our volunteers take an active role in the betterment of Martin County and take personal responsibility for improving our quality of life. Our adult volunteers serve as inspiring role models to our youth volunteers and are taught to care for, preserve, and protect our environment.

“You must be the change
you wish to see in the world”

Keep Martin Beautiful works with local civic groups, government agencies, schools, environmental organizations, businesses, families and individuals to improve our neighborhoods, remove litter and debris from our streets, parks, beaches and waterways, and develop a deeper connection to and respect for our natural environment.

We accomplish our mission through various programs, events and activities. Our two major annual cleanups are The Great American Cleanup and The International Coastal Cleanup. We also coordinate local community cleanup events throughout the year and administer the popular Adopt-A-Road and Adopt-A-Street programs. To recognize outstanding volunteer achievements throughout the year, we host an annual Environmental Stewardship Awards Ceremony. Many other programs and activities round out our efforts to promote environmental stewardship in Martin County.

As a non profit organization, Keep Martin Beautiful relies on financial support from Martin County government as well as corporate sponsorships, memberships and individual donations to operate. Please consider what role you can play in helping to keep Martin County beautiful.

Keep Martin Beautiful is an affiliate of Keep America Beautiful (KAB), just one of the nearly 1,000 affiliates and participating organizations working in more than 15,000 communities throughout the United States engaging individuals in programs that beautify, prevent litter, and reduce, reuse, recycle and properly manage waste materials.

Volunteers

Our programs, events and activities are diverse – just like our Volunteers. From cleaning up litter to marking storm drains to planting trees, there is something for everyone. We offer volunteer opportunities that occur throughout the year or can make a difference in just one day.

Volunteers are at the heart of our organization and are the reason for Keep Martin Beautiful’s effectiveness. By working together, we help to build a stronger sense of community and pride in our neighborhoods. To see Volunteers, young and old, scouring our local beaches removing harmful and unsightly litter and marine debris is a testament to the power of individuals to make a difference.

They are truly an inspiration and we are grateful to live and work in a community that has such active and passionate stewards of our environment.
